The Alligator announces new board positions, now accepting applications

The Board of Directors of Campus Communications, Inc., publisher of the Independent Florida Alligator, announces the opening of the following positions:

Current Journalist

The Board of Directors is seeking a professional journalist currently serving in the editorial side of a newsroom.

Alumna or Alumnus

The Board of Directors is seeking an Alligator alumna or alumnus with a minimum of five years newsroom experience.

Both are unpaid members of the Board of Directors.

Applications for these positions are available at the new Alligator office, located at 2700 SW 13th Street, each weekday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from now until Thursday, March 23. Candidates located outside of the Gainesville area can receive an application by emailing Trish Carey at [email protected].

Further written information is available at the time an application is picked up. No phone calls, please. Allow up to 15 minutes at that time to read information regarding the application process. Part of the application consists of short essays in response to specific questions.

Applications must be returned to The Alligator by Friday, March 24 at 4 p.m. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE DEADLINE. Interviews and selections by the Board of Directors will be held at the new Alligator offices in a meeting open to the public on Wednesday, April 12 at 2:30 p.m. Applicants must meet the above qualifications. No former employee or trainee of Campus Communications or any of its subsidiaries may apply or be appointed within three years of the end of the former relationship with CCI.
